A Classic Tiramisu Recipe to share with the coffee lovers (and if not a coffee fan...try my other versions)
When it involves coffee. If I had 100 dollars in my bank account, I’d still find a way to get a coffee. And tiramisu? That’s just coffee in dessert form—made even better with homemade ladyfingers. No, I’m not claiming this is the most authentic version out there, but it is my version, and it’s a really good one.
At our Christmas party, my mom’s best friend took a bite and told me I should sell it to catering places. So naturally, when my best friend told me she didn’t like tiramisu, I took that as a challenge. I made the entire thing from scratch—ladyfingers and all. After one bite, she looked at me and said, “This is delectable.” I laughed. Because when your best friend says she hates tiramisu but then asks you to bury her in it? That’s a win.
This recipe is my go-to when I want to impress someone—or just treat myself (snacking on cookie dough is mandatory). I hope it becomes a staple in your kitchen too!
Ingredients

For the Ladyfingers:
½ cup granulated sugar, divided (100g)
3 large eggs, separated
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour (120g)
5 teaspoons cornstarch
Powdered sugar, for dusting
For the Tiramisu Filling:
1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
8-ounce container mascarpone cheese, at room temperature
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups cold espresso or strong brewed coffee
3 tablespoons coffee-flavored liqueur (optional; e.g., Kahlua)
Cocoa powder, for dusting
Feel free to swap out the coffee for matcha, thai tea, or chai!
Instructions

Prepare the Ladyfingers:
Follow the detailed instructions from my Homemade Ladyfingers Recipe. Once baked and cooled, set them aside.
Make the Tiramisu Filling:
In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
In a separate bowl, blend the room-temperature mascarpone cheese with the reserved Oreo cream fillings until smooth.
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.
Assemble the Tiramisu:
Mix the cold espresso with the coffee-flavored liqueur (if using) in a shallow dish.
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are moist but not soggy.
Layer the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom of your serving dish.
Spread a layer of the mascarpone filling over the ladyfingers.
Repeat the layers, finishing with the mascarpone filling on top.
Dust the top layer with cocoa powder.
Chill and Serve:
Refrigerate the assembled tiramisu for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
